“Whenever I stand in front of a blank canvas, it seems to be waiting for my first line or brush stroke. If it appreciates that first move, a conversation begins between the canvas and the artist”.
As the work progresses, the canvas, or a divine hand, shows the way forward and a story unfolds. This has been my experience each time. I am only the storyteller. Therefore, I have named this series ‘Guftagu’.”
Aparna has a deeply spiritual and mystical approach to her art, which is reflected and felt in every canvas she completes. She completed her post-graduation in art studies from Barkatullah University, Bhopal in 1984 with a Gold Medal. Aparna has participated in several prestigious group shows in Bhopal, Delhi, Mumbai, and many other cities across India.
She is currently teaching art at a govemment college in Bhopal, where she also has her studio.
